چکیده :
Abstract— Effective frequency control stands as a pivotal concern in the operation of power systems, given its direct impact on system productivity and reliability. This research unveils a novel approach by introducing a Hierarchical Type-II Fuzzy (HT2F) controller, tailor-made for a thermal interconnected power system spanning two distinct areas. The study takes into account critical factors including production rate limitations, governor dead-band effects, and the presence of a reheat system. To fine-tune the HT2F controller's effectiveness, the Membership Function parameters are optimized utilizing the Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA). Furthermore, the adoption of a Hierarchical Fuzzy Inference System (HFIS) results in a remarkable 33% reduction in rule complexity. The paper thoroughly examines the functionality of the proposed controller and compares its performance against other methods, demonstrating the outstanding effectiveness of the proposed approach.
