Fuzzy Logic-Based Uncertainty Analysis of a Sheet Pile Soil Retaining Wall

چکیده :
In this study, with fuzzy logic, the uncertainty analysis of an anchored sheet pile wall is performed. Uncertainties are given to the input parameters using the fuzzy method. Spatial variability of the soil friction angle is investigated by layering the soil and considering different values of the friction angle in each layer of the soil. The stability of an anchored sheet pile wall against two failure modes was studied and by optimizing the problem using Genetic Algorithm, fuzzy triangles of factors of safety were obtained. Then the reliability index of the wall was calculated in each failure mode. The results show that the uncertainty and spatial variability of soil parameters have significant effects on the design and analysis of the sheet pile wall, and ignoring them leads to imprecise and uneconomical design.
