Frequency Regulation Improvement in AC Microgrids: A Fuzzy-Based Extended Virtual Synchronous Generator Control

چکیده :
Integration of power electronic converter interfaced distributed generators (DGs) to microgrids (MGs) decreases the whole inertia of the system. That is why one of the most important challenges in MGs is the lack of rotational inertia. Low inertia in the MGs makes frequency control a complicated issue, and maintaining frequency stability in MGs is a critical issue. In this paper, the concept of the extended virtual synchronous generator (VSG) is used to mimic the useful dynamic features of synchronous generators (SGs) and associated basic primary and secondary frequency control loops. The extended VSG (EVSG) is a strategy based on virtual inertia that combines the concept of virtual modules (according to rotor system, primary and secondary control loops) as a virtual controller for frequency regulation. This paper proposes a new fuzzy logic (FL) based EVSG to compensate for frequency deviations for an islanded AC MG.
